This tries to prioritize actual voice to decide the waveform, and clamps noise to zero to ensure the waveform doesn't have a perceptually noisy base.
In theory this better matches the overall voice message content.

Previously ForwardDialog was not giving its EventTile message preview
the information it needed to render a ReplyThread. This was a bit tricky
to fix since we were pulling a fake event out of thin air, so this
ensures it doesn't regress.

This is out first CallHandler test(!) Switches react-sdk to use
createCall on the client object so we can stub this out in the test.
Add a bunch more stubs to the test client.
There's more stuff in this test that has scope to be used more
widely, like waiting for a certain dispatch and mocking out rooms
with particular sets of users in them: we could consider moving these
out to test utils if we wanted.

Add a concept of a singleflight to avoid repeated calls to stop/ending

This makes it easier to keep track of which pieces the client will have already dispatched or been executed, reducing the amount of class members needed.
Critically, this makes it so the 'stop' button (which is currently a send button) actually works even after the automatic stop has happened.
UI is still pending for stopping recording early. This is not covered by this change.

Does a thirdparty protocol lookup to the homeserver to get the
corresponding native/virtual user for a matrix ID. Stores the
mappings in room account data. Involves some slightly nasty workarounds
for that fact that room account data has no local echo.

This adjusts the app local link parsing path to better handle `via`s in query
params. Previously this path only expected them when an event ID was also
present, but it's also valid to have `via`s without event IDs as well.

Rework message pilling to ignore event permalinks

This removes pills from event permalinks since they hide the text associated
with the link, which can cause nonsensical messages since words have been
removed. In addition, this moves away from fragile regexs to more
straightforward code to parse links and adds a test for this case.

The accompanying element-web PR with the config documentation should
explain what this is & why. Internally, this breaks the assumption
that call.roomId is the room that the call appears in for the user.
call.roomId may now be a 'virtual' room while the react SDK actually
displays it in a different room. React SDK always stores the calls
under the user-facing rooms, and provides a function to get the
user-facing room for a given call.

We no longer have tinting support, so remove it. We still need the `Tinter` to exist though as it's used in quite a few places (though does nothing). Similarly, we have to keep the `roomColor` setting due to it being used in a few places - another PR can take away the tinter support properly.
The room tile context menu and top left menu are artifacts of the old room list.
The end to end tests weren't failing before as the code path is unused, however it seems worthwhile to keep it as we will eventually need it.

This isn't the fastest route, but it is a predictable route for the happy path we probably want to test. For example, Alice will already be staring at the DM and could easily accept the verification there, but we probably want to make sure that the toast is present and does the right thing. Similarly, neither of them need to verify that there's green shields everywhere, they should be implied, however an explicit check follows a real user's gaze.

Fix read marker visibility for grouped events

The recent "groupers" which extracted out timeline grouping logic forgot to
pass through the last event state for read marker computation. This causes the
read marker to become visible when e.g. returning to room if it was last placed
inside a grouped set of events (currently room creation and membership events).
Regressed by https://github.com/matrix-org/matrix-react-sdk/pull/4059

Because the tests are run directly by node, we have to use the CommonJS module syntax. We could run the thing through babel, but then we just have another babel.
Windows instructions are from experience and may not be optimized.

We use `export default` begrudgingly here. Ideally we'd use just `export`, though this entire SDK expects things to be exported as a default. Instead of breaking everything, we'll sacrifice our export pattern for a smaller diff - a later commit can always do the default export -> regular export conversion.

Change read markers to use CSS transitions

Removes one of the two places we use Velocity, so we're one step
closer to getting rid of it for good.
Should therefore fix the fact that Velocity is leaking data entries
and therefore <hr> elements.
Hopefully also makes the logic in getEventTiles incrementally simpler,
if still somwewhat byzantine.

Splits UserActivity into a tristate of 'active' (last < 1s), 'passive' (lasts a
couple of mins) and neither. Read receipts are sent when 'active', read markers
are sent while 'passive'.
Also fixed a document / window mix-up on the 'blur' handler.
Also adds a unit test for UserActivity because it's quite complex now
(and changes UserActivity to make it testable by accessing the singleton
via sharedInstance() rather than exporting it directly).

Only mark group as failed to load for summary

Currently, any error in the `GroupStore`s several requests can cause the whole
`GroupView` component to hide and be mark the group as failed to load.
Since it is known that group members may fail to load in some cases, let's only
show failed to load for the whole group when the summary fails.
This also strengthens the `GroupView` test by ensuring we wait for multiple
updates for checking results.

For setting:

Testing RoomSettings required more stubbing on the matrix client.
The power level tests should be failing at this commit, with
fixes being made in upcoming commits.
Some tests are marked as known failures that we should fix but
aren't necessarily bugs:
- SettingStore.setValue is used when saving despite the user not
having made a change.
- Testing directory publicity changes cannot be tested because we
update state asynchronously in componentWillMount (which we do
not block on in beforeEach).
Also, we needed to use `export default` to make sure everything
uses the same client peg and client.

Allows running without having pushRules (it's safe not to have these
when running from indexeddb sync.)
This means rooms will be displayed with "unknown" notifcation state.
This assumes anything that uses the push rules will get pushRule state
again when the client starts syncing again.
For recovering from being disconnected,
* If an avatar has fallen back, try again on reconnection
* If a thumbnail image failed to load, retry on reconnect
* Load joined groups when reconnecting

Rewrite ScrollPanel test
...
It turns out that Chrome now implements scroll-anchoring itself (ie, content
stays in the same place when you add more stuff off-screen), which means we
cannot rely on back-pagination to make ScrollPanel do a scroll.
Instead, just do a scrollToToken. Which turns out to be considerably simpler
anyway.

This stops react-sdk from tracking any state previously stored for the purposes of enabling or disabling the lab feature that enabled the new MessageComposer. It is now enabled permanently.
This is being done with the hope that we can get more feedback for it so that when we release we can be confident that people will be OK with the changes it brings.

This allows for the alias resolution to occur before a join is attempted. In theory, join_room could in future do an optional view_room-esque thing before attemping a join which would be less fragile than dispatching things in the right order.
Also, make sure the store indicates that it is not loading when a room ID has been used - no alias resolution need take place.

Implement a store for RoomView
...
This allows for a truely flux-y way of storing the currently viewed room, making some callbacks (like onRoomIdResolved) redundant and making sure that the currently viewed room (ID) is only stored in one place as opposed to the previous many places.
This was required for the `join_room` action which can be dispatched to join the currently viewed room.
Another change was to introduce `LifeCycleStore` which is a start at encorporating state related to the lifecycle of the app into a flux store. Currently it only contains an action which will be dispatched when the sync state has become PREPARED. This was necessary to do a deferred dispatch of `join_room` following the registration of a PWLU (PassWord-Less User).
The following actions are introduced:
- RoomViewStore:
- `view_room`: dispatch to change the currently viewed room ID
- `join_room`: dispatch to join the currently viewed room
- LifecycleStore:
- `do_after_sync_prepared`: dispatch to store an action which will be dispatched when `sync_state` is dispatched with `state = 'PREPARED'`
- MatrixChat:
- `sync_state`: dispatched when the sync state changes. Ideally there'd be a SyncStateStore that emitted an `update` upon receiving this, but for now the `LifecycleStore` will listen for `sync_state` directly.

Fix password UI auth test

By adding a way to wait a short time for a component to appear in
the DOM, so we don't get flakey failures like this when we change
something to returning a promise that needs to resolve before the
component actually appears.

Make tests pass on Chrome again
...
It seems that a number of the tests had started failing when run in
Chrome. They were fine under PhantomJS, but the MegolmExport tests only work
under Chrome, and I need them to work...
Mostly the problems were timing-related, where assumptions made about how
quickly the `then` handler on a promise would be called were no longer
valid. Possibly Chrome 55 has made some changes to the relative priorities of
setTimeout and sendMessage calls.
One of the TimelinePanel tests was failing because it was expecting the contents
of a div to take up more room than they actually were. It's possible this is
something very environment-specific; hopefully the new value will work on a
wider range of machines.
Also some logging tweaks.

Fix scroll up, down pagination test
NB: this test may not fail on Travis, although it did fail locally without a fix : #563 .
Once the test has scrolled the panel to the top, to the earliest events, it should be able to forward paginate, because some degree of unpagination occurs. This does assume that unpagination will occur when scrolling to the beginning of the events and that unpagination should allow pagination again in the same direction.
Instead of checking that the first event is no longer the first event (varies due to unpagination), check instead that the most recent event can be seen when scrolling all the way down to the bottom of the TimelinePanel.
Scrolling past the bottom of content seems to have strange behaviour, which isn't a useful part of the test. So now the test will scroll down until the last event instead.

Instead of using a window of a fixed number of events, unpaginate based on the distance of the viewport from the end of the scroll range.
The ScrollPanel uses the scrollTokens to convey to its parent (the TimelinePanel, in this case) the point to unpaginate up to. The TimelinePanel then takes a chunk of events off the front or back of `this.state.events` using `timelineWindow.unpaginate`.

Fix flaky TimelinePanel test
...
The 'should load new events even if you are scrolled up' test was sometimes
failing. It turned out that pagination *sometimes* wasn't starting soon enough
after setting the scrollTop, and awaitPaginationCompletion was incorrectly
believing it to have already been and gone.
Add an awaitScroll to make sure that we wait long enough for the pagination to
begin.

* Actually test what we were supposed to be testing (viz, that we can paginate
back down after we hit the top of the room)
* Make the cap on the number of events we show in the timeline a configurable
property, so that we can set it in the test
* Use a smaller cap in the test, so that we have to do less paginating to hit
the cap, to make the test run quicker.
* add some more logging so that we can see how far it's got if it gets stuck.

Take some of the magic out of MatrixChat.componentDidMount() into a new
component.
Also delete the MatrixChat test. It wasn't really doing much, is broken by the
change, and I am replacing it with (better) app-level tests in the vector
project.

It turns out that a bunch of things rely on MatrixClient methods to return
promises rather than undefined. Rather than having to undo half the work done
by sinon.createStubInstance, just build our own object with as many methods as
we need stubbed out.

Under certain conditions, it was possible to get stuck in a state where any
user-initiated scroll would be met with "Working around
vector-im/vector-web#528" and overridden. Fix this by removing the duplication
between _lastSetScroll and recentEventScroll, and using _lastSetScroll which is
more reliable.

Fix a bug where we tried to show two ghost read markers at once.
...
I think this was responsible for the readmarker just disappearing rather than
animating.
While we're here, decrease the delay on the animation, and instead make it take
slightly longer to disappear.
